About the project
Make Your Move is a disco-inspired song exploring heartbreak, longing, and the uncertainty of waiting for someone to take the first step. The song began as a sound experiment at the Royal College of Music and developed into a fully realised composition.
The production grew from an exploration of layered percussion and atmospheric textures, using processing and blending techniques to create an evolving soundscape. Vocals play a central role throughout the piece. In the middle section, I layered and processed vocals with Tremolo and Vocoder effects to create a more expressive, otherworldly texture. This section was specifically developed with live performance in mind. The final section introduces a new drum pattern and groove, creating a shift in energy and bringing the piece towards its emotional resolution.
